Your โSelfโ Is Sacred
Oct 16, 2025
Somewhere along the way, many of us were taught to forget something essential, something holy:
Your "Self" is sacred.
Not because of what you do for others.
Not because of how much you achieve or how well you hold everything together.
But simply because you are.
However, I learned something different.
I learned I needed to be thin, pretty, pleasing, willing, giving at all costs, happy, and always well-mannered—just to be accepted.
I had no idea that my spirit, my soul, and my “Self” were sacred… that I should treat myself, and have others treat me, with honor.
No, instead I learned to only treat others that way—and many times, at the expense of myself.
From the time we were young, the world whispered a story to us.
We were praised for being “good girls,” quieting our needs to keep the peace.
We were encouraged to take care of everyone else first—parents, partners, children, coworkers—and only then, maybe, ourselves.
We were told that selflessness is noble, while tending to our own desires is selfish.
We learned to measure our worth by how useful, pleasing, productive, happy, and accommodating we could be.
Over years and decades, these messages sink deep.
They teach us to overlook our own needs, mute our voices, and abandon parts of ourselves—until we feel like guests in our own bodies and lives.
But here’s the truth you were never told loudly enough:
Your time, energy, and body are sacred ground.
Your feelings, dreams, and needs are not luxuries—they are your birthright.
You are not here to be an afterthought in your own life.
It’s not selfish to place yourself at the center of your own life.
It’s sacred.
Because when you honor your Self, you rise whole.
You come home to the woman you were always meant to be—radiant, grounded, powerful, and deeply alive… and also allowing and embracing the messy, the failures, the beautifully imperfect.
Let this be your reminder:
You are not just a caretaker of others’ lives.
You are the keeper of your own sacred Self.
How we feel—both physically and emotionally—will always reflect how we are in relationship with our Self.
