The Real reason we stay STUCK

People get stuck. We all do. But some people can get stuck in patterns that last decades and it is hurting their happiness and creates suffering.

As a therapist and coach, this is true. People stay in stuck patterns throughout their life and wonder why. I’ve worked with hundreds of people who were deeply stuck and frustrated that they can’t change.

Our minds are constantly noisy with “to-dos, overthinking, second-guessing, criticism, comparing, fantasizing” and so much more. It is like a racquetball bouncing around. Our minds need help to get centered, otherwise the noise takes over and stays in the same thinking that it created problems.

But how do we change it? Studying progressive psychology for 30 years has taught me that there are a variety of ways to shift one’s thinking but it is not just about changing your mindset. It is about using your whole system, the body and the mind, to shift your consciousness.

In the 80’s, the concept of Body/Mind was taught as more of a woo-woo concept. However, brain science has shifted out the perspective on this. Our whole body, including the mind, is constantly communicating crucial information that we are taught to be unaware of. This is crucial information because it explains part of the reason we can stay brutally stuck.

We are not aware of our full self and we believe that our head brain will have all the answers. It doesn’t. The work is about connecting the whole system together, to communicate in a more full way…. a more full Self, not just part.

It would be like asking you to work out but to only use your bicep. We stay impaired because we are only using one part. People need to learn how to fully connect to the whole system to create real change.

So if you are STUCK, it’s time to learn a true system that will create real change, not just a bandaid.
